March is Marron month...

Experience pure Denmark this March with two great opportunies to enjoy fresh local Marron.  1st - 5th March we will be doing a "Mostly Marron" menu featuring brand new dishes and served as tapas style dining.

8th - 31st March we are offering a chance for everyone to sample and enjoy delicous Denmark Marron with our "Marron meal and a glass of wine" for just $25.

Mostly Marron Menu

 

Set amongst stunning natural bush and rolling green pastures, the Café called “Picnic in the Paddock” is the ideal place to sit back and relax with quality wine and food. The family-friendly café offers space and toys for the kids too.  The seasonal menu has something for everyone, including our famous deep dish pies, local marron, Denmark-grown steak and delicious kids meals. We also offer quality coffee to complement our range of cakes and desserts.

We source fresh seasonal produce from our farm or local farmers, including local berries and of course grapes grown on farm.  All of our desserts and cakes are made using local free-range eggs and our beef and chicken (hormone free) reared in the Great Southern is expertly prepared by Reeves & Co Butchers in Denmark.   Marron is one of our speciality dishes sourced in the Harewood district from Abbivale Marron Farm.

After enjoying a relaxed lunch walk through the Artfield Art abstract sculptures located on the café lawn.  These are made using discarded farm machinery, timber and remnants from wine-making.

Marron are freshwater lobster with a sweet delicate tasting meat.  They are native to the South West of WA and flourish in fresh clean water that the natural springs offer.  We can get fresh marron for you take home and share with your friends and family, please pre-order by calling 08 9840 9016.

10.00am to 5.00pm Thursday to Monday and daily during school holidays (these hours are subject to change during winter months)
